The Soufflet Group put down its first roots at Nogent-sur-Seine, in the Champagne region of France.
In 1900, local farmers delivered their harvest to the grain trading business run by Pierre and Lucie Juchat. After being widowed at a very young age, Lucie Juchat continued to run the business on her own, while bringing up her three daughters. She passed the small company on to her son-in-law Jean Soufflet and her daughter Yvonne in 1927. More
